(1) Cover should be put on with the whole offset towards engine side of carb.
(2) The Needle Clip (963 500) MUST be located below the Spring Cup (827 347). Misplacing the Needle Clip will result in a rich range tuning of the carb.
(3) Window must be in the bottom of piston on the engine side, 4.4mm wide x 3.8mm high.
(4) There is currently a blocked jet for primer use. Be sure that it stays plugged.
(5) These parts will not work with older versions of same parts (5- #963 500 and 6- #827 347).
The new numbers must be used as a set.

BING MAIN JETS 
 The main jets on the Bing carb are replaceable. It is recommended that they be replaced if they are found to be plugged. This can happen when the carb is left with fuel in it for long periods of time. The fuel turns to sludge which plugs the jet. In this situation it is NOT recommended that the jet be cleaned and reused. Main jets start at #120 increasing in increments of 5 to #220 - exceptions are #142/148/152/158/162

BING IDLER JETS
The idler jets on the Bing carb are replaceable. It is recommended that they be replaced if they are found to be plugged. this can happen when the carb is left with fuel in it for long periods of time.
The fuel turns to sludge which plugs the jet. In this situation it is NOT recommended that the jet be cleaned and reused.
Idler jets start at #30 and increase in increments of 5 to #70

Note on the 582 and 503 DUAL carb Rotax engines we have found that a decrease in the idler jet size provides a smoother engine idle.
Bing Needle Jet
We have found that on the 582 Rotax switching to a larger needle jet helps prevent hot spots in the engine between 5200 and 5800 rpm. It also helps prevent engine surging in the same range on the 532 Rotax.
BING JET NEEDLE (2) THE NEEDLE JETS (5)
The jet needle and clip should be inspected on a regular basis for wear. Wear occurs in the area where the clip rides. Failure of the clip and or needle will cause the needle to:
A) lower itself causing a LEANER fuel mixture or
B) the needle will fall down into the bottom of the carb causing loss of power.
C) cause erratic engine performance as the needle bounces up and down.

Cable Grommet
While this may not look like a very important part of the Bing carb it plays a significant role in preventing water from entering the carb bowl. With these grommets damaged or missing water or dew on the cable will follow the cable down into the float bowl.  It is recommended that these grommets be replaced at the first sign of cracking.
Sieve Sleeve
It is important that the sieve be in place and not damaged. This is not a filter or screen. It's purpose is to convert foam back into fuel.

During rough operations the fuel in your float bowl with foam. When you pass foam through a screen it turns back into fuel. With the sieve in place over the main jet of your carb no foam can form causing misfiring etc.

The floats should be checked for damage and leakage. To do this remove the bowl from the carb fill it full of fuel. Place the floats in the fuel on their stems - leave them for about 30 minutes and then check to see if both floats are at the same level. If one has sunk it MUST be replaced.
Needle valve with viton tip
This needle allows fuel in and shuts it off at the needed rates and times. If damaged it no longer seats and fuel will vent from the overflow tubes of your carb.

It is a recommended yearly replacement item or at the first signs of problems

Float bowl gasket

The float bowl should be removed regularly to check for water and debris. It is suggested that you have spare float bowl gaskets handy incase they are damaged or have failed from age.
