Oil Dipstick Exchange Program for ROTAX 912 and 914 Series
Date: May 15, 2003
Subject:
Engines.
1.0 Subject
This program covers the exchange of the oil dipstick for some 912/914 series engines. Oil dipstick part number 956 150 is to be removed from service and exchanged with the new style oil dip stick part number 956 151.
It has been discovered that the characteristics of some oils result in
a slower return of the oil from the crankcase to the tank, causing the
oil tank level to fall below the minimum. To remedy this situation it is necessary to increase the volume of oil in the system
by approximately 0.48 qt (0.45 litres). A new dipstick is therefore
necessary to ensure an accurate assessment of the oil volume in the tank.
