Just Aircraft was at Sun N Fun with their new Escapade. The Escapade is a
convertible - that is it can be changed from a tail wheel to a tri-cycle
gear in about 30 minutes. The Tri-cycle gear at the show won the
"Outstanding Light Plane" award. The Escapade is a 42 inch side by side seating two place, with dual stick and rudder controls. The craft has a welded steel fuselage, with wings that can be folded back in under two minutes without having to disconnect any of the control systems. The kit takes between 400 and 600 hours to build. Power can be supplied by the Rotax 2 stroke series of engines of the Rotax 4 stroke engines up to 115 hp, and is also set up to handle the Jabiru series of aircraft engines. The plane is currently certified in the UK under the static and flight certification and testing requirements, and has a +4 g's -2 g's load limit. Gross weight is 1232 lbs with a 532 lbs empty weight giving it a 702 lbs. useful load. With the 912 Rotax series of engines the cruise speed is 90 mph, stall with flaps 27 mph, and climb rate 900 feet per minute. For more information contact: Just Aircraft LLC |
