The Destiny Fusion would appear to be the next step in the evolution of
the powered parachute. According the the factory "over twelve engineers
worked on the design with their goal to produce a powered parachute for
all season operation, with style and function, with safety designed into
every aspect of the craft."
Some of the design features include an optional cockpit enclosure, and
heater for colder climates, a multi-torque suspension system that not only
moves up and down but forward and back simultaneously. The system has over
6 inches of travel in it which is considerably more "roll resistant" than
conventional designs, and gives the unit a 6 G load rating.
A wrap around composite fuselage and cockpit, with interior wing
steering wheel and conventional nose wheel steering, which is located
inside the cowl, for ground operation.
The use of the clean composite fuselage feeds clean air into the prop
producing considerably more thrust, "in fact we found that a 503 Rotax
would produce the same amount of thrust on the new unit - as a Rotax 582
did on a standard PPC."
But Destiny isn't finished development on the fusion "in the next
couple of months we expect to have a shroud for the engine, to cut down on
noise and increase the air flow to the prop and probably a prop fan
shroud."
