| Verner 133M - A number of engines have been introduced into the
North American ultralight market over the years. One that has been
making in roads into the light aircraft engine field is the Verner
Engine from the Czech Republic, which has sold some 400 units over
the last 10 years, with just over 30 currently flying in the U.S.
This year they introduced their newest engine design the Verner
133 M. The 133 M is a twin cylinder, 4 cycle, horizontally
opposed, chain driven overhead cam engine. The major differences
between the older SVS 1400 version is that the 133M has a wet sump
lubrication system versus the dry sump used on the SVS 1400 and
the belt reduction drive has been replaced with an integral gear
reduction drive with a clutch. The 133M is also 20 lbs lighter
than the 133 M.
The 133M is 1329 cc, puts out 78 hp at 5000 rpm (5 minutes
maximum) with a continuous power output of 68 hp at 4000 rpm.
The engine comes with an electric start, generator, fuel pump,
carburetor, and 2 to 1 gear reduction drive. All out weight
of the unit is 142 lbs.
The current warranty is 6 months or 50 hours and the
recommended TBO is 800 hours.
