Skyraider Mini Coupe the vintage aircraft look applied to a single
place Skyraider ultralight.
Skyraider Mini Coupe - The Skyraider seems to be a platform that
new designers, and builders see as an ideal unit for bringing
their products out to the market on. The Mini-Coupe a Skyraider
modified by Roger Dunham of Idaho was on display at Sun N Fun with
the "Smartplug" while another Skyraider had the new Hexadyne
engine installed on it.
The Mini Coupe has over 40 modifications
to it from the stock kit supplied by the factory. Most of these
are esthetic in nature to give the plane the "vintage mono coupe"
look. These include a round metal cowl, additional stringers,
streamlined struts, with the control cable hidden inside ABS
fairing attached to the rear of the struts, a bowed "CUB" style
wooden wing tip. Other mods include the profiliing of each wing
rib, stainless steel rod brace cables for the tail, a balanced
elevator, round tail fins, a heavier tail wheel, and wheel pants.
Roger is currently testing the market to see what kind of
response he gets for the mods and will be working with the factory
to offer them, as well as offering ready to fly craft.
