L'il Breezy single place ultralight by Harper Aircraft Inc.
The Lil' Breezy - Back in June of last year Jack Harper who's
business was banner towing decided to build an ultralight for
himself. Then with the events of 9/11 and the banning of banner
towing around sporting events, Jack's idea of building an
ultralight for himself took on a business form.
The Lil' Breezy
is actually the second version, as the first which was built out
of steel came in "a little too heavy" so the decision was made to
make the fuselage out of aluminum. The Lil' Breezy kit comes
with pre-welded aluminum fuselage, and all of the composite work
for the fuselage "pre-done" - without and engine for $6,000
or ready to fly aircraft with a 447 Rotax engine for $12,000.
The Lil Breezy uses tricycle landing gear, the wings and tail
sections can be folded in minutes for easy storage in a one car
garage.
The kit should take about 150 hours to build. The Lil'
Breezy uses standard three axis stick and rudder control with 1/4
span ailerons. Stall speed is 25 mph. Take off speed 30 mph, with
a best climb speed of 40 mph. Climb rate is about 500 fpm.
