For those owners of Kitfox, Rans, or T Bird aircraft looking for an
alternative to the Rotax lines of engines, Lost Hill Aviation is offering
motor mount kits that will allow them to install the twin cylinder four
stroke HKS engine. According to Paul Stepp of Lost Hill Aviation a customer who owned a Kitfox with a Rotax engine decided he would prefer an HKS. He purchased one in Trade A Plane, and approached them to do the installation. The motor mount kit is available for about $500.00 or a complete
installation can be arranged for approximately $900.00. On the Kitfox the
battery is mounted behind the seat to allow for the additional nose weight
of the HKS. The carburetor intakes come over top of the engine, and the
oil reservoir and muffler mount are incorporated into the rear of the
motor mount. |
