Ferrer Aviation was at Sun N Fun with the venerable Skyboy and two new
aircraft from Interplane the Falcon 2000 L and the XJ.
The Falcon 2000L is being currently being offered as a ready to fly
aircraft under the Experimental Exhibition class in the U.S. Once the
Sport Pilot category is finalized it will be certified and available in
that class.
The Falcon 2000L features an all composite body, with aluminum wings
ribs, covered in standard aircraft fabric. The company rates the loading
on the plane at +6/-3.
It has a 40 inch wide cabin, dual controls, and comes standard with a
10 gallon fuel tank. It is powered by the 912 series of Rotax engines.
Cruise speed is 100 mph, stall with full flap comes in at 44 mph. Rate of
climb 1000 feet per minute.
Currently their are 25 Falcon 2000 L's flying in Europe.
The XJ being shown at the show is the proto-type model, the final
version will be introduced sometime in August. It also will be certified
to the Sport Plane rules.
The XJ is an amazing 49 inches wide, but will be redesigned for more
head room for taller pilots. It also uses a composite fuselage, and
aluminum wing ribs but only has single controls standard, with dual
controls available. The XJ also has been tested to +6/-3. The useful load
on the XJ is 582 lbs, and the fuel capacity is 15 gallons.
