Flying in the winter can be some of the most enjoyable flying you
do. A complete different world opens up you you when you fly in
the winter. Lakes, rivers, and fields now become available to you
as landing fields. The reason of course is because it is COLD and
things have frozen over. When flying the first thing a pilot
will feel is this cold, generally starting at his extremities,
hands and feet. All Rotax aircraft engines are able to produce 12
volt dc power with the installation of a regulator rectifier. With
this power pilots are able to power a number of "heating units."
These include helmet heaters, foot heaters, hand warmers and
"personal body parts warmers."
|

Helmet heater -
This helmet heater is powered by 12 volt DC
supplied by your battery/alternator system. It maintains 90
degrees F inside your helmet. This temperature has been set so
your helmet will keep your head warm and comfortable and will not
fog up to impair your vision.
