BRS ballistic parachute save
#124 |
|
On approach for landing, the Titan Tornado pilot struck hard-to-see
power lines. As the ultralight passed through the lines, it pitched
forward. The pilot quickly deployed which pulled the nose up and the
aircraft hit the ground flat and lost its forward speed.
"Even
though the parachute didn't have enough altitude (only 25 feet) to fully
open, it arrested my forward movement and repositioned the aircraft. I
suffered injuries but will heal. My next aircraft will definitely have a
BRS."
Result: Pilot survived!
