BRS ballistic parachute save
#120/121 |
|
Shortly after takeoff in Belgium, the Merlin MU 912 microlight turned
to crosswind leg and found the aileron became jammed. Already in a turn
and too low for alternatives, the pilot deployed the parachute at about
300 feet above ground. The canopy opened within 100 feet.
"When
the ailerons blocked and I could not recover from the right turn, I had
to open the BRS parachute. Neither my passenger nor myself were injured.
We landed in some bushes not far from Runway 23.
I am sending my
parachute for repacking. Many thanks, BRS!"
Result: Pilot and
passenger survived!
