The Mosquito has been in production for over 2
years, with prototype models haven flown over 250 hours. The XE model
airframe "high quality fiberglass unibody construction in a vinylester
matrix."
The XE has an empty weight of 298 lbs in the experimental aircraft
category, but can still be flown as a U.S. legal ultralight with the
addition of floats which gives it a weight of 312 lbs.
Power is supplied by the Zanzotterra MZ202 a twin cylinder air cooled
two stroke engine which supplies 64 HP. Cruise on the craft comes in at 65
mph with a top speed in the experimental class of 75 mph. Fuel capacity
for ultralights is 5 gallons while the experimental version has a 12. U.S.
gallon capacity.
The Mosquito XE is provided in kit form and should take between 300 and
350 hours to build. Innovator Technologies offers the kit as one unit or
it can be bought in 5 sub assembly kits.
