New to the ultralight market this year is the Summit by Just
Aircraft of Caldwell ID. The Summit is a front a back seating two
place (the second seat is a buddy seat) with a wing span of 32
feet 3 inches and a wing area of 120.9 feet. The length of the
craft is 19 feet - 22 feet with the wings folded. The Summit has an empty weight of 450 lbs and a gross weight of 990 lbs giving it a useful load of 540 lbs. The craft features a pre-welded 4130 chrome moly steel fuselage and tail, bungee cord landing gear, heel brakes, 3 position flaps, differential ailerons activated by push pull tubes, full doors with widows. The kit comes powder coated, with quick build wings, flaps and ailerons, the wings are already set to the fuselage, upholstery, 4 point seat harnesses, wheels, brakes, two wing tanks, engine mount, fiberglass cowl and steerable tail wheel. Options include engine, propeller, instruments, strobe kits, electric trim, Tundra tires, and various fabric covering options. The Summit can be powered by the Jabiru 80/120 hp and the full line of Rotax engines starting with the Rotax 503 thru the Rotax 912 series. First time builders should take about 400 hours to build.
