If you are going to enter a market that has a great deal of
competition you had better have a product that is "better". The
people at Phoenix powered parachutes believe they have. While the Phoenix uses a standard PPC control system, foot steering, throttle to go up, throttle to come down, with industry standard chutes, it is the construction of the airframe which makes the Phoenix different. The Phoenix uses a "pylon and a side rail" and has a feature called "CG adjusters" which prevent the craft from rolling all the way over. The "side rails" are support by H girders - similar to that used in bridge construction. This support, the use large diameter aircraft grade 4130 chromoly steel tubing and the fact that the side rails are one piece with no holes in it, which are bent in a huge bender make for a very strong fuselage. The Phoenix Liberty can be powered by the Rotax 582, or the Hirth 3202. The Phoenix is currently being offered to the public factory direct but the factory is aggressively working on establishing a dealer network. Also in the works are a very comprehensive assembly manual which should allow you to put your craft together in about 15 hours. For more information contact: Phoenix Powered Parachutes |
