AWL a powered parachute that travels in the air, on the water, and drives on land.

The Air Water and Land Vehicle - What do you do when you want everything? You want to get into flying, but you also want a motorcycle, then again a boat for the cottage would be nice? Well Victor Henson  of Rock Island IL might have just what your after.

Victor has designed and built a powered parachute, thatAWL powered parachute motor for driving on land. can be legally driven on the road in Illinois, and can be converted into an inflatable boat.  Two engines are used to power it, a 503 Rotax of 50 hp powers it as a parachute and air boat, and a 5.5 hp Tecumseh engine is used when driven as a land vehicle. Airspeed and ground speed are approximately 30 mph, speeds as an airboat are not yet available as it is still in the  testing stage.

The AWL (pronounced ALL) is street legal with handle bar steering, hand brakes, turn signals, headlight, and horn. It has also been registered as watercraft - but the floatation system is not ready to be sold to the public yet.

As a single seat aircraft it weighs 470 lbs about the same as a two place ultralight. The chute used is a by High Energy Sports. The craft comes built, and Victor indicates that he will be able to take orders by end of summer.

The AWL was flying in the ultralight circuit at Airventure and it's first flight was  6/05/2002.
